Our views on these topics are:
- Church.- We think of the church as a building or a meeting place when in fact the church is the assembling of the body of Christ. A calling out. We, the people, the saints are the temple, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit
- The Bible is not true.- Because we pray and ask for something and don't receive what we pray for we think there's something wrong with the Bible. Jesus said many times "If you love Me, keep My commands." If our prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling, it is not God's word that's wrong. We must seek God's will and intention, never drawing back. 1st John 3:22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. NKJV
- I'm not good enough for God. He will never use me.- God takes the foolish things of the world and uses them to do great and mighty things. By this He is the One who receives the honor and glory. He exhalts the humble and brings down the wise and pridefull.
- I'm not acceptable to God.- Ephesians 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. NKJV He created us to be His sons and daughters for His great pleasure.
- Saved by a prayer..- This is a huge misconception. Jesus said that those who do the will of His Father in heaven will be saved. Matthew 7-21. He also said that we must forgive to be forgiven and that we must never deny Christ. Salvation comes through a relationship with God. John 14:23 says if we love Him we will keep His commands and He comes to live inside of us. We are saved by grace through faith. Works do not save you but the works will be the evidence of your relationship with God. Faith without works is dead!
- I don't need to keep His commands. He is all grace- Jesus said that we will be known by our fruits. If we are not operating in faith and doing the work Jesus for-ordained us to do, chances are we are fooling ourselves. All of the law and the prophets hang on this one word- LOVE. If we're not helping and loving others, do we even have the love of God in us?
- The poor and homeless made their own bed.- Jesus tells us to help the poor, not judge them. Jesus is the judge. He also tells us to make disciples. If we would get out of the building and love the unlovely, teaching them through kindness and loving acts while sharing the Scriptures with them, the power of God will transform them.
- I'm a low down dirty sinner.- 1st John 3:6, 3:9, 3:24, 5:4, 5:18. Romans 6:18 and 6:22 all tell us that it is definitely possible to not sin. 2nd Peter 1:1-8 says that we become partakers of the divine nature through His power when we truly gain knowledge of Him. When we see Him we will be made like Him. All things are possible with God. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- Must go to seminary to be a pastor.- Ephesians 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. 1st John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and it is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. NKJV
- My problem is too small.- God is our Father and wants to be a part of absolutely every detail of your life. He has numbered the hairs on your head. He created you for His good pleasure. Everything you have is His and you are called to steward it. Christ suffered and died for every little problem you have. Were His stripes received in vain?
- No condemnation.- Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. NKJV. If you are in Christ, you are in the Spirit. The Spirit is God and God is love. If you are not loving, you are not in the Spirit and the Spirit is God and Christ is God. If you practice the dictates of the flesh noted in Galatians 5:19-21, chances are that you are not in Christ. Making a decision in your head that Christ died for you does not mean that you are in Christ. If He is your Lord, you will give Him your life, surrender to Him, submit to Him, deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Him. The road is narrow and the way is difficult but it is the Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom and the Kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.<<<Back
